It was so much fun catching up with Sheila and baby Gwen. I know Sheila from college. She’s great friends with one of my old roommates! Such a small world these days. Baby Gwen did amazing for being almost a month old at the time of the newborn photography session. As a Newborn Photographer Kansas City, I like to capture studio newborn photos under 2 weeks old and lifestyle newborn photos under 3 weeks old. Baby is just better for both sessions if this happens. Of course, there’s always the exception and I try my best with older babies. But back to Gwen’s session. It is such a beautiful session. Scroll down to view my favorites from the day.

Isn’t Gwen’s room just adorable?!? I love all the pink and gold accents in the room. Mom loves to antique and consignment shop and said she found most of the decorations there. I absolutely love the cream and gold dresser also. It looks so much like the one I had growing up!

Gwen was also awake for a bit of the session and I captured those baby blues. Isn’t she gorgeous?

At my lifestyle newborn sessions, I love to capture part of the client’s home to remember where they brought baby home too. I also like to add in a few posed type shots such as in the wooden bowl below.
